Peaks and Plains Gala - Round 1 Success!
29 Feb 2020
After an evening of thrilling races, Wilmslow Scorpions came 3rd in the first of the three Peaks and Plain galas. Knutsford came 1st and Satellites came 2nd, with Wilmslow very close in points to 2nd place.
Well done to all those taking part in this gala. Our swimmers achieved 22 PB’s out of 32 individual races!
Swimmers achieving winner’s certificates were Gabriel Lavan, Ellie Finch, James Dale x2, Thomas Alexander, Katherine Alexander, and William Jones.

Simon puts a lot of effort into organising this Gala. We can only have 2 swimmers per age group for boys and girls. These swimmers are used to make up the relay teams. Failure of a swimmer to turn up or to drop out at short notice means that we lose the opportunity to compete in some races and can mean we cannot enter a relay team. We really must stress the importance of committing to this gala if accepting an invite and to respond to invites quickly.
As well as thanking all those that attended, a special big thank you goes out to James Dale and Bella Carleton-Bland, who stepped in at very short notice to ensure we had a full team. Hats off to Katherine Alexander and Phoebe Davidson, who made a mad dash, from the Liverpool Splash and Dash Gala to Crewe, to also ensure that Simon had a full team at the Peaks and Plains Gala.
