We hope you enjoy your time as a Club member and that your swimming technique and stamina continue to improve during the coming years. You can also follow the club on twitter here: Twitter. We also have a Whatsapp group that you can join!
The following pages contains some basic information about our structure and sessions and hopefully answers some of the questions you may have. Once you are a fully-fledged member, you will be given access to the members area which will give you all the information you need to be an active member of the Club.
We are all committed to the Long Term Athlete Development programme as advocated by SE.
The site also has links to easyfundraising.org.uk which enables parents and friends of the club to raise money for the club every time they shop online.

Getting Started
There are some essentials for you to complete in full. Once these are done we can then process your membership.
- The Registration Form. This should have been completed before you had your trial. The form is found under the club section.
- Please note that on this form we require emergency contact information, consent forms signed and medical information. - The Swim England (SE) Fee. Please send the SE fee via bank transfer to the club. This fee is payable annually. Fees are listed below. The SE fee provides insurance for your child to swim with the club. The Membership Secretary will send you details of where to pay and will register your child with SE. Your child will then be allocated an SE number and will receive an SE card.
- The Joining Fee. Please send the Joining fee via bank transfer to the club. This is a one-off fee. Fees are listed below. The Membership Secretary will send you details of where to pay.
- The Monthly Fee. Please set up a standing order with your bank to pay the monthly fee. Fees are listed below. The Membership Secretary will send you details of where to pay.
- The 'Club Member’s Code of Conduct'. Please log onto your child's membership account and sign to acknowledge you have read the policy.
- The 'Parent’s Code of Conduct'. Please log onto your membership account and sign to acknowledge you have read the policy.
If your information changes at any time please ensure your online account is kept up to date.
Once we have your registration form and fees you will be given online access to our members’ area where swimmers can see their latest swimming times & invoices, order kit, enter upcoming galas and competition results.
All parents and swimmers are encouraged to be active on the system.
Fees
Joining fee is £30. This is a one-off fee and should be paid by bank transfer
Swim England (SE) fees also need to be paid by bank transfer - the 2022 rates are Competitive Swimmer £34.65; (Non-Competitive Swimmer £15.85).
Monthly fees payment via Standing Order (SO) is required. The fee is £30 per month
SE fees are renewed on the 1st January each year and are payable during December.
Please note prompt payment of fees is required, as Liability Insurance Cover is not in place for unpaid swimmers. If this is the case the swimmer will not be permitted to swim.
Club Structure
Wilmslow and District Amateur Swimming Club is a non-profit organisation and all those involved except for the coaches, are volunteers, this includes the committee members, Club Shop and gala officials. All the fees and sponsorships we receive are used to further the objectives of the Club. Membership fees are used to pay for pool hire, insurance, coach training and many other things that are necessary to keep the Club in compliance with the SE and other legal requirements.
Currently, we swim three nights a week at Wilmslow Leisure Centre, Wilmslow, operated by Everybody Sport and Recreation Ltd. We swim on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays.
See our club calendar for up to date details on regular training sessions, galas and upcoming club events. Also accessible from the dropdown list under club.
The committee is responsible for running the Club on a day-to-day basis. It consists of a Chairman, Treasurer, Club Secretary, Membership Secretary and a number of elected members. A full list of Committee Members is available in 'who's who' members section of the website. If you have any questions on the running of the Club, please feel free to speak to anyone on the Committee. Please make a point of checking the Club Notice board and Website as they are regularly updated.

The 2022/23 season of the peaks and plains swimming league has now come to an end, with Wilmslow scorpions finishing in second place. An amazing performance off all our swimmers guided by our head coach Simon and coach Steph.
Saturday 18 March 2023 saw a team of 43 swimmers and our coaches Pete and Graham travel to Macclesfield Leisure Centre to compete in round 1 of Sputniks. We saw some fantastic swimming, for many of our swimmers competing it was their first away gala. Everyone competing did scorpions proud.
Saturday 11th March saw Wilmslow scorpions take to the pool for the second year participating in British Long Distance Swimming Association distance swim.
Good luck to our swimmers going to Macclesfield this weekend to swim in the Cheshire County Championships 2023. Delighted that we have 5 swimmers who qualified and are representing Wilmslow Scorpions as well as a few dual club swimmers.
