TADPOLES 2019 GALA 1

The Tadpole Gala 2018 will take place over 2 consecutive Saturdays at Grand Central Leisure, Stockport.

Each year the Stockport Association of Swimming Clubs hosts two galas known as ‘Dave Brewood Memorial “Tadpoles”’.  These are ‘graded’ (those that are too fast can’t enter) and so are a really great opportunity for B and C grade club swimmers to take part in galas knowing they won’t be competing against elite swimmers. Awards are made to the six fastest swimmers in each race.

The Tadpoles gala gives more of our members the opportunity to take part in, and experience the excitement of a gala, get official Swim England times, and have a greater opportunity to win an award. Swimmers tend to swim faster in galas, so it also gives our swimmers the opportunity to also achieve a personal best (PB).

The final race is the Cannonball relay, where each club competes in an 8 man relay, with a swimmer participating from each age group. This is an exciting finale.

Wilmslow Scorpions will be competing against swimming clubs from Hazel Grove, Hyde, Marple, Poynton, Romiley and Stockport
