Cheshire County Championships 2020 - Day 1
18 Jan 2020
Day 1 kicked off with some great results. Swimming today were Ella Faulkner, Heidi Stansfield, James Dale, Joseph Mortlock, Oliver Mortlock and Thomas Alexander. All 6 swimmers achieved PBs. Honorary member Lewis Brodie and dual club member Ethan Marshall were also competing. The swimmers were supported by Simon Clapham, the clubs Senior Coach.
Ella came 2nd in 100m IM for her age category, PBing by an astonishing 6 seconds! This gained her a place in the finals, in which she came 4th.
James, Ella, Joseph and Oliver swam qualifying times for the Cheshire County Championships for 2021! James in the 50m Back, Ella in the 100m IM and Joseph and Oliver in the 50m Fly.
Heidi was 0.35 seconds off a qualifying time for the Cheshires 2021 in the 100 IM! She will surely get this in her next gala.
James time in the 50m back was just 0.25 seconds short off a regional qualifying time!
We hope to see James and other swimmers aiming for Regional status, at the Satellites Spring Meet 2020. This is one of the last chances to qualify for the Summer Regional Championships 2020. Well done to all in the Wilmslow's Cheshire County Squad who took part in today's events.
Lewis Brodie, one of the clubs honorary members, who swims for Stockport Metro, came 1st in the 50m Back and came 1st in the 50m Back final for his age catogary. Lewis came 3rd in the 50m Fly and came 3rd in the 50m Fly final. Lewis also came 3rd in the 400m Free.
