Peaks and Plains Gala
The Peaks and Plains Swimming League is run jointly by Affiliated swimming clubs from Cheshire West and Cheshire East. The League is affiliated with Swim England North West Region and runs an annual team swimming competition. These team galas which typically take under 2 hours to run are aimed at very inexperienced swimmers and provide a gentle and generally noisy introduction to swimming.
The gala consists of 3 rounds. Round 1 and 2 are semi finals, and round 3 is the final.
The League currently consists of the following Amateur swimming Clubs: Alsager, Macclesfield Satellites, Knutsford Vikings, Northwich Centurions, Sandbach Sharks, Nantwich Seals, Poynton Dippers and Wilmslow Scorpions. Each club swims against each other in the 8 lane venue.
This gala is by invitation only. Failure to respond to invitations or attending galas after excepting an invite, may lead to opportunity to represent the club being given to other swimmers.

Round 2 took place on Saturday 22nd April, 28 swimmers attended the gala with our coaches Pete and Graham. Yet again we saw some fantastic swimming, everyone competing did scorpions proud. Saturday 18 March 2023 saw a team of 43 swimmers and our coaches Pete and Graham travel to Macclesfield Leisure Centre to compete in round 1 of Sputniks.
