Wilmslow Scorpions have a new regional qualifier in their county squad!!!!  What a day to be alive! Read on for details.

Day 2 has really topped off the weekend.  Swimming today were Ella Faulkner, Heidi Stansfield, James Dale, Martha Sargent and Thomas Alexander.    The clubs Honorary member, Lewis Brodie, was also competing.  The swimmers were supported by coach Graham Rigby.

The morning started off with Martha, Heidi and Ella all taking part in the 50m Breaststroke. Heidi and Martha got PB's, with Ella just missing out on a PB by hundreds of a second.  Both Ella and Heidi swam qualifying times for Cheshire County 2021 and Heidi swam a qualifying time for the Regional's 2020.  Amazing effort!

Thomas then swam the 200m Breaststroke and got a PB.

In the afternoon Ella and Heidi swam the 50m Butterfly, with both getting PB's and both swimming qualifying times for Cheshire County 2021.  Ella came 3rd in her age category and was entered into the final.  Ella came 5th in the final, with an improvement on the PB achieved in the heats.

James swam the 100m Backstroke and shaved almost 2 seconds of his previous PB.

Lewis Brodie had a fantastic day.  He came:

• 1st in both the heats and the final of the 50m Backstroke,
• 3rd in the 400m Freestyle,
• 3rd in both heat and final of the 50m Butterfly,
• 3rd in the 200m Breaststroke,
• 2nd in the 800m Freestyle and
• 1st in both the heats and the final of the 100m Backstroke. 

For his age category he has achieved so much, but I still reckon he can't put a Rowntrees fruit pastel in his mouth without chewing it! Click to see Rowntree's Fruit Pastel Advert.
