Wilmslow Scorpion’s Dual Club Swimmers, Splash and Dash in Liverpool

The City of Liverpool Long Course 50 Metre ‘Splash & Dash’ Championships at Wavertree on Saturday provided an exciting day, with 6 of our dual club swimmers attending.
Katherine Alexander, Phoebe Davidson, Theo Ibeziako, Martha Sargent, Finlay Ibeziako and Ella Faulkner took part in this meet, which is purely 50m races, in a 50m pool.
For some, it was the first time competing in a 50m pool and this now gives them official SE recorded times.
Ella Faulkner left the event with 3 gold medals in 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke in the 10 year age category. Ella also achieved a bronze medal in 50m breaststroke in the 10 year age category.
Theo Ibeziako and Finlay Ibeziako finished within the top 10 in all their races.
All our dual club swimmers are now ranked in the top 30 Cheshire swimmers at long course in the various strokes swam for their age group.
This gala is one of the last opportunities for those seeking regional times to achieve that in a 50m pool. It is also a great opportunity for those who like to dash, without turning, achieve a county time or get a SE ranking in a long course pool environment.

Round 2 took place on Saturday 22nd April, 28 swimmers attended the gala with our coaches Pete and Graham. Yet again we saw some fantastic swimming, everyone competing did scorpions proud. Saturday 18 March 2023 saw a team of 43 swimmers and our coaches Pete and Graham travel to Macclesfield Leisure Centre to compete in round 1 of Sputniks. Good luck to our swimmers going to Macclesfield this weekend to swim in the Cheshire County Championships 2023. Delighted that we have 5 swimmers who qualified and are representing Wilmslow Scorpions as well as a few dual club swimmers.
