Wilmslow Scorpions smash Peak and Plain gala 1

Yesterday a team of 16 swimmers selected by Coach Simon travelled to Crewe Lifestyle Centre to compete in the first team gala held since the end of Covid lockdowns. Swimmers ranged in age between 10 and 16.
The team competed in individual races and team relays. There were seven other teams swimming including Alsager, Knutsford Vikings, Nantwich Seals Northwich Centurions, Poynton Dippers, Sandbach Sharks and Satellites of Macclesfield, Swims have to be within time limits set by the gala organisers and points are assigned on the place that the swimmers come. If swimmers are too fast then they are awarded "speeding tickets" and the swims do not count. The gala is organised within Swim England rules so swimmers can be disqualified for technical infringements and no points awarded.
All the clubs tried their best but Wilmslow came away as winners!

Round 2 took place on Saturday 22nd April, 28 swimmers attended the gala with our coaches Pete and Graham. Yet again we saw some fantastic swimming, everyone competing did scorpions proud. Good luck to our swimmers going to Macclesfield this weekend to swim in the Cheshire County Championships 2023. Delighted that we have 5 swimmers who qualified and are representing Wilmslow Scorpions as well as a few dual club swimmers.
